A continuation of my Inside Hip-Hop series.

This week we look at a significant aspect of the music industry: the recording studio. The studio is such an important part of the music industry and it wouldn't feel right to title this piece Inside Hip Hop. Instead we focus on the studio's impact on the artists and music in general.

We visited Northfire Recording Studios in Amherst.  In the studio was a band called Sonic Malfunktion lead by singer/songwriter Tony Thomas who gave insight into to the significance of a studio when it comes to your music.

Some of the topics we discuss include how Tony first heard of the studio, advice to younger artists thinking of investing in studio time, studio etiquette, and the importance of making good connections.
