Free Sleep Workshop at River Valley Market

NORTHAMPTON—Window of Heaven Acupuncture & Yoga of Northampton will hold a free workshop, called How to Master a Good Night’s Sleep, at River Valley Market on Tuesday, May 31 from 6:30-8 p.m.

The workshop is open to the public and especially suited to people with chronic and/or lifelong insomnia. Courtney Hill Wulsin, owner of Window of Heaven Acupuncture & Yoga and a licensed acupuncturist, will discuss Chinese medicine theory around sleep hygiene, diet, lifestyle choices, bedtimes and Western sleep medications.

Window of Heaven Acupuncture & Yoga is a women’s health practice at 94 King St., combining acupuncture, herbal medicine and private yoga instruction to treat insomnia, postpartum issues, pregnancy symptoms and all aspects of menstrual health.

A serious insomniac until the last few years, Wulsin has made it her mission to teach adults how to sleep. “My unique approach is more of a training regimen to educate people about the right things to focus on and why short-term consistency is necessary to make long-term change,” she said.

Wulsin will speak to the pros and cons of sleep medication, the best tips for weaning off medications and all the free methods with which people can improve sleep on their own.

Pre-registration for the workshop is required. To register, call River Valley Market at 413-584-2665 or stop by Customer Service at the market at 330 North King St. For more information about Wulsin or Window of Heaven Acupuncture & Yoga, visit www.windowofheavenacupuncture.com or call 413-303-1246.
