Dog Show Raises Money for Northampton School Volunteers

On March 7th, the VINS (Volunteers In Northampton Schools) hosted the 10th annual dog show held at Northampton High School on 380 Elm Street.  The public was invited to attend and enjoy this family fun event for dog-lovers.  Entrance for two-legged visitors was free, while dogs had to pay a fee.  Proceeds went to fund the VINS program. Volunteers in Northampton Schools is a private, non-profit organization, founded in 1981, whose mission is to provide volunteers in all of Northampton's public schools.

Dogs competed in categories like Best Fetcher, Most Photogenic, and Most Obedient.

To add to the fun, there was also food, vendors, raffles, and surprises.  Many of the vendors were local businesses and non-profit organizations such as Leading The Way Doggie Daycare and Training, Dakin Humane Society, and Hope Animal-Assisted Crisis Response.

Bob Danylieko was there interviewing some of the participants.
