Reiki Master Teacher Caroline Ruderman will offer a free educational event on Jan. 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Community Room at Forbes Public Library, 20 West St., Northampton.

Ruderman will discuss the benefits of reiki and offer mini reiki sessions. Her talk is free and open to the public; registration is not required.

Practicing out of CLINIC Alternative Medicines at 98 Main St., Ruderman follows the Tibetan

Usui reiki tradition, a system of western reiki.

Ruderman trained in New York City for the two reiki certificates she holds from Reiki Master Nana Delaplanque. She received her master training in New York state with William Rand, an internationally known reiki master and historian.

She has practiced on humans as well as animals and has worked at Bard College and St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, N.Y.
