Djamming to Django in June!

Django In June, New England's annual celebration of the musical tradition of Django Reinhardt, brought a great buzz to Northampton this year.  Widely-acclaimed musicians, students, and enthusiasts enjoyed a week of busking, classes, and all-night "Djamm" sessions.  The festivities ended with concerts at The Academy of Music by Latcho Drom, Samson Schmitt & Tim Kliphuis on June 20, and Les Doigts De L'Homme on June 21.

Les Doigts De L'Homme is a gypsy jazz group from France, composed of Olivier Kikteff, Yannick Alcocer, Benoit Convert, and Tanguy Blum.  They played at Django In June once before in 2011 but have not returned until this year.  We spoke with Olivier Kikteff, the band's leader about Django In June and Les Doigts' busking background.
