NORTHAMPTON – The Oxbow Water Ski Show Team will present an “Ice Out” event on April 5 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Oxbow Marina at 180 Island Road.
In the event that the ice hasn’t receded by April 5, the performance will be postponed to Sunday, April 13.
This frigid but fun event launches the team’s 2014 season, which will carry a show theme of “Ski Haw.”
The team begins regular practices in June and performs Friday night shows beginning mid-June and continuing throughout July.
Also this season, the team’s Learn to Ski event will be held on June 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Their Northampton Networking Night will take place on July 10 from 5 to 7 p.m., and the Regional Tournament will be held on July 26-27.
The Oxbow Water Ski Show Team was founded in 1980 by 24 original members and now has 55 members ranging in age from 1 to 59. Last year, the team placed first for the 12th time in the Eastern Regional Show Ski Competition.
