Chanterelle To Go Food Truck Opens in Northampton

A new food truck came to the streets of Northampton in late March, 2013. Chanterelle To Go, owned by Lauren Kendzierski and Maxwell Reichert, focuses on providing unique menu items at a low cost, and relies on locally grown, sustainable ingredients. The menu blends American, French, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean cuisines and offers many vegetarian and vegan options. In addition to the basic menu, the truck also features daily specials and offers free bicycle delivery to downtown Northampton. Kendzierski, a Western Mass native and UMass graduate, explained they plan to serve other towns in the area, including Amherst and Springfield, but that they are using Northampton as a home base while their business is starting. "It's such a great community of small business and creativity," Kendzierski said, "We thought that it would be so nice to be a part of that."  They ultimately hope to serve food at events across New England, and to start a farm where they could grow their own ingredients.
