Front St./Leonard St. Paving Underway

From the blog of the Northampton DPW:

Beginning Monday, October 15, 2012, work will begin on Front Street and Leonard Street in Leeds, MA for the new thermoplastic pavement markings and signage (weather permitting).

The City has a contract with HI-Way Safety Systems from Rockland, MA to complete this work that is expected to take less than one week.

There will be at least one lane of travel open at all times for this project.  Drivers are asked to be careful and proceed slowly around the construction work zones.

Work includes a double yellow centerline and two white shoulder lines that provide 10-foot travel lanes in order to promote a narrow lane that should help slow vehicle speeds.  There will also be warning signs installed before curves with advisory speed limits.

For more details on this project, visit the DPW's Engineering Projects web page.
