Tabla player Aditya Kalyanpur performed on Sunday, February 16th at the Academy of Music as a part of their Four Sundays in February program. Aditya took the stage two times, first to back up Hammered Dulcimer player Max ZT and then Sitarist Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan. In addition to playing with groups Fuzikk and Bombay Jazz, Aditya teaches music and established the New England School of Music. He sat down with us after the show to talk about long tradition of Indian music and how he approaches it.
