Leadership Coach Offers Free Online Course for the New Year

Mini-retreat for change-makers, caretakers and ‘purpose-driven people’ who want to get the most out of 2017

GREENFIELD—Katherine Golub, founder of the Core Brilliance Academy, will offer a free online course, called the New Year’s Clarity and Renewal Retreat, that will help participants develop a vision and priorities for 2017, beginning Dec. 26.

Golub, an executive coach and leadership development trainer, said the online mini-retreat can be done by participants in one two-hour sit-down session or in small bursts over the course of a week, and it is best suited to those who spend their time caring for others or working to make a difference in the world.

“By the end of the seven-day retreat, participants will feel much clearer about their priorities for the year ahead, and they’ll have practices they can rely on to make their vision a reality,” Golub said. “The ideal participant is a purpose-driven person who works hard to make the world a better place and who often doesn’t take time to reflect and get clear on what they want for their own life. The course helps them invest time in themselves so that they can live the year ahead to its fullest.”

Golub founded the Core Brilliance Academy in January 2013 to help nonprofit leaders and mission-driven entrepreneurs develop the inner capacity to lead and affect greater positive social change. She specializes in teaching people who spend their time taking care of others to take better care of themselves so that they can avoid burnout, become more effective and enjoy their own lives, too.

Golub previously worked in strategic affairs for the hotel workers’ union, as a research analyst, and as a birth doula, childbirth educator and yoga teacher.

The free course is a preview for a program Golub will unveil in January. Called Radical Self-Care Now, that course will serve as phase two for people who benefited from the free course and want to “go deeper in learning how to integrate radical self-care into their lives,” she said.

Participation in the free course is not required of those who register for Radical Self-Care Now.

Enrollment for both courses is unlimited. Enrollment in the free offering begins Dec. 26 and runs through Jan. 9. The course is a group forum and will allow participants to tell stories, ask questions and share key learnings.

Course offerings include exercises to help participants feel focused and centered, a detailed worksheet to help create a vision for the year ahead, guidance on creating healthy boundaries and saying “no,” and the “Core Brilliance Compass,” an easy-to-use tool that will help them set resolutions for the year.

“This year has been particularly hard for many of my clients, and the election has sent many people into overdrive,” Golub said. “In order to be truly fulfilled and make the biggest impact possible, they need to take time to reflect on where they’re headed. The New Year is an exceptionally good time to do this.

“Offering the course for free is one way that I can give back to the community and support them to make a powerful contribution, while thriving in the new year,” she added.
