Sorry, Ryan Gosling Is Probably Not Moving to Northampton

You might have recently seen an article circulating the internet that claims actor Ryan Gosling has decided to move to Northampton, MA. You might have also gotten briefly excited about the prospect of bumping into the serious stud at a coffee shop, or having him appear in your next NCTV video - a girl can dream, can't she?  Or maybe you just used common sense and did a little more digging in order to spare yourself the emotional turmoil.

The website Channel 18 News states that Gosling supposedly revealed his reasons for leaving the West coast.

“'I’m just tired of the L.A. lifestyle and I feel like, at this point in my life, I’d rather just live in a place full of real, genuine people. I’ve been to Northampton, Massachusetts a couple of times over the years and the people there are real… they’re genuine, and yeah every community has its problems but the people there are good, decent people and they care about their community. Those are the things I find most important in deciding where to live,' Gosling told the magazine."

The article did not state the name of the magazine, nor cite any source at all; it was the only article we could find on the subject matter, so naturally, we were skeptical. If the ridiculous clickbait around the article didn't tip you off, then allow me to burst your bubble: it turns out that if you Google Gosling's alleged quote, you'll get a similar story about Leo DiCaprio moving to Hempstead, NY.

Julia Roberts moving to Bowling Green, KY.

Justin Timberlake moving to Ann Arbor, MI.

As much as I'd like to see Dead Man's Bones play at Iron Horse next year, it's pretty clear that the generic Channel 18 News isn't an actual news source, and that we won't be graced by Mr. Gosling's residence anytime soon.
