Sleep Workshop for Families at Cultivate and Nest

NORTHAMPTON—Window of Heaven Acupuncture & Yoga of Northampton will hold an educational workshop, called Helping the Whole Family Sleep through the Night, at Cultivate and Nest in Hadley on Sunday, June 5 from 2-5 p.m.

The workshop is open to families with children under the age of 8 who are having trouble sleeping consistently throughout the night. Courtney Hill Wulsin, owner of Window of Heaven Acupuncture & Yoga and a licensed acupuncturist as well as a prenatal and postpartum doula, will lead the workshop.

Wulsin will offer a combination of Chinese medicine sleep theory, infant/child sleep training and an open forum for questions about parenting styles.

Window of Heaven Acupuncture & Yoga is a women’s health practice at 94 King St., combining acupuncture, herbal medicine and private yoga instruction to treat insomnia, postpartum issues, pregnancy symptoms and all aspects of menstrual health.

Wulsin specializes in chronic adult sleep issues and has made it her mission to ensure that the next generation sleeps better than the last. “I am here to empower parents with the best techniques for training good sleepers and to validate the insanity that ensues from the ongoing struggle within a sleepless house,” she said.

Wulsin seeks to create a safe space within this three-hour session for a difficult conversation and is leaving ample time for specific questions and assistance. She will also address the dangers of parental exhaustion and easy, free ways to improve parents’ sleep when the kids are actually sleeping.

The workshop is priced at $40 per person or $50 per couple. Pre-registration for the workshop is required. To register, call Cultivate and Nest at 413-949-3509.

Cultivate and Nest, located at 2 Bay Road in Hadley, is a membership-based co-office space that incorporates a child care component.
