Dinosaur Jr.'s "Tiny" Music Video features the Pioneer Valley Roller Derby League and a Skating Bulldog

Last month Dinosaur Jr. announced their new album "Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not" will be released on August 5th, 2016.  The video for the band's new single "Tiny", directed by Laurie Collyer, dropped this week and features the Pioneer Valley Roller Derby league scrimmaging at their home bunker in Florence.

The video also features Beefy the Bulldog, a skating dog who shreds alongside frontman J. Mascis at Veteran's Field skate park in Northampton.  Beefy, who lives in New York City, has travelled the world, skating at the Dew Tour in Ocean City, MD and the indoor ramp at the Red Bull HQ in Los Angeles, CA.

According to Collyer, the concept for the video was born out of Mascis' love of skating and bulldogs:

...Aside from music, J Mascis has other passions. Bulldogs and skateboarding among them. When a friend of mine told me there was such a thing as skateboarding bulldogs, I took it from there and came up with the idea for Tiny.

J’s dog, sleeping outside his rehearsal room dreams up the perfect day with J. He wants to skate without falling down or crashing. He wants to skate with J. He waits patiently outside the roller derby for J to finish his gig. The rest is history.
