Hawaiian Music, Storytelling the Focus of Free Health Presentation

ASHFIELD—Charity Ritscher, a licensed massage therapist who owns Indigo Wholistic Healing Center in Florence, will host “Wise Secrets of Aloha,” an evening of Hawaiian music and storytelling, onWednesday, April 13 in Ashfield.

The program will be led by Wayne Kealohi Powell, the founder of Hawaiian Shamanic Bodywork, a traveling mystery school of holistic health and Hawaiian medicine, based in Hawaii. His talk will offer insights and inspirations for living life in what he calls the “state of Aloha.”

The program will begin at 5 p.m. with a potluck dinner. Powell’s presentation begins at 7 p.m.

The talk will be held at the home retreat Ritscher runs with her partner, Marty Benjamin, a licensed acupuncturist, at 64 March Road in Ashfield. The event is free and open to the public, and registration is required by contacting Ritscher at (413) 584-9993 orindigowholistichealingcenter@gmail.com.

Ritscher will also sponsor other events with a Hawaiian theme at Indigo Wholistic Healing Center, 45 Main St., Florence. They include:

  • Thursday, April 14, Clear the Path to Freedom, a Ho’oponopono sacred circle and group ceremony, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Ho’oponopono is “Forgiveness Technology,” an ancient Hawaiian process of clearing resentments, fears and judgments.
  • Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 15-17, Ho’oponopono Training, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Learn the Hawaiian LomiLomi method of massage.
