On Sunday February 21st the Northampton Arts Council hosted a concert in honor of June Millington at the Academy of Music in Northampton.
The theater was packed full of fans of Millington's 60's rock band Fanny and supporters of the Institute of Musical Arts, a campus in Goshen, Massachusetts dedicated to teaching women and girls about music and the music business. The concert featured an array of special guests musicians including Holly Near, Jill Sobule, Toshi Reagon, Gail Ann Dorsey, and Christine Ohlman. The show also involved virtual appearances from popular artists Earl Slick, Rachel Price of Lake Street Dive, and Cris Williamson. The crowd cheered as figures of Millington's life showed their gratitude for her work in music.
