Area Lawyer to Give Presentation on Estate Planning

NORTHAMPTON – Attorney Karen G. Jackson, an elder law attorney, will present “The Big Five,” a primer on the five estate planning documents that everybody needs, on Wednesday, Sept. 30 from 5:30–6:30 p.m. at Forbes Library, 20 West Street.

The presentation is free and open to the public.

During this interactive program, Jackson will explain the importance of each document in the core estate plan: the will, health care proxy, advance directive, HIPAA release, and durable power of attorney.  She will include examples of real-life situations and answer questions.  Handouts will be provided.

Jackson and her law partner, John Torrone, have over 45 years of combined experience. They provide legal services, primarily in the areas of elder law, estate planning, trusts and wills, guardianships, conservatorships, Medicaid applications and nursing home issues, probate and estate administration, and real estate law, including protection of assets.

“We are very passionate about our work for our clients, and this presentation gives me an opportunity to share important information with a larger audience,” Jackson said.
