The Northampton Bench Walk is a community art project that allows local artists to leave a work of art on the sidewalks of the city. Ten selected artists were given the chance to paint benches along Main street.
The benches range from Van Gogh, different animals, and even a design inspired by abstract artists. Walking from Pulaski park down to Local Burger you will see the new art-benches on either side of the street, along with a few on Pleasant street as well.
This project was brought to fruition through community funding and mainly the Northampton Youth Commission. The benches will be completed with a layer of clear coat on June 12th, along with a ceremony so that the artists may showcase their work to the public.
