The American Friends Service Committee of Western Massachusetts will be hosting a rally in response to last night's grand jury announcement in Ferguson, MO stating that there would be no indictment of Officer Darren Wilson. The rally will take place today (Tuesday, November 25th) at 5:30pm at the Northampton City Hall. On their website, AFSCWM says
"...a demonstration in solidarity with the people of Ferguson and in opposition to the ways in which racism informs policing and the criminal justice system, will take place . . . We wish to make this event feel open to adults and children, despite the violent nature of the issue of racism and police brutality. A preliminary line-up of speakers, consisting of community leaders, has been invited, and there will be an opportunity for others to speak."
