From Northampton DPW - Paving Construction Update

Taken from the Northampton DPW blog.

On Saturday, August 2nd, All States Asphalt will be installing a "shim coat" of pavement on Barrett Street in preparation for rubberized chip seal that will be applied toward the end of August. The shim work is anticipated to take half a day and be completed in the morning.

Warner Bros., LLC has completed milling in Florence on North Main Street, Main and Chestnut Streets and Prospect Street. Structures will continue to be replaced and adjusted on these streets during the week of August 4th. One way traffic will be maintained, but motorists should expect delays along these routes.

There will be NO ON STREET PARKING in downtown Florence Monday through Wednesday, August 4th to 6th. The contractor will also be installing or replacing handicap access ramps at crosswalks along these streets, and some sidewalk sections will be closed or detoured for this work.

Milling will continue Monday August 4th on Jackson, North and Bridge Streets, in that order. The contractor will work late to complete these final streets that are being milled under this contract. One way traffic will be maintained, but motorists should expect delays along these routes.

An overview of the locations and general schedule is located here. A more detailed description of all pavement management occurring this year can be found here. Please contact the DPW at 587-1570 if you need more information.
