Shari Petrucci

Event scheduled for April 8 from 10 a.m. to noon

LONGMEADOW GlenmeadowRetirementwillhost a workshop on building miniature landscapes in old bird baths and other creative containers on Tuesday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to noon at Longmeadow Community House.

Sustainable Pleasures: Creating Miniature Landscapes in Old Birdbaths” will be offered by Master Gardener Shari Petrucci.

Petrucci will discuss the concept of planting in birdbaths and other small, unique containers and review the herbs and plants that work well in these accent pieces for the porch, patio and garden bed. She will also demonstrate three examples that can be created with little cost and care.

Petrucci was raised in Massachusetts in a family that travelled the world and loved to garden. She learned at an early age that how you garden largely depends on where you live. She lives and gardens in the Feeding Hills section of Agawam.

The free event will be held at Longmeadow Community House at 735 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow.
