Five College Film Festival 2013

On Friday, February 22, five college students and friends gathered at Mount Holyoke College for the Five College Film Festival. Over 25 short films were shown, varying from documentaries, to narratives, animations, and experimental films. Watch most of the entries here.

At the end of the night, awards were given out to the winning films which were evaluated by a jury of students and film faculty from each of the Five Colleges.  Erick Msumanje was awarded the Grand Prize, as well as Best Documentary and Best of Hampshire College for his film "Devil’s House."  The film "In Bloom" by Katarina Neskovic received Best Narrative and Best of Smith College.  Best Animation went to recent Hampshire College graduate Xiaohan Lu Hanny for her short "Hikari," and Best Experimental Film was awarded to Sasha Hsuczyk of Hampshire College for her film "18 Mile Beach."  Best of Amherst College went to "Retribution" by Matthew Hartzler, Best of Mount Holyoke College was "Here Nor There" by Jamie Theopolis, and Best of UMass went to Rory Howard Sayce "KinderDays."
