DPW Hosts Community Tag Sale 11/10

From the blog of the Northampton DPW:

The DPW is sponsoring a reuse & recycling rally on Saturday 11/10 at the Smith Vocational HS from 9am-1pm, in cooperation with the City’s ReUse Committee, Salvation Army & ProShred of Wilbraham.  This is the 6th in a series of events this year to promote waste reduction, reuse & recycling of unusual materials.

A Community Tag Sale will feature nearly sixty sellers in the school’s back parking lot at 80 Locust Street from 9-1.  Yard sale devotees will be delighted with bargains at this huge multifamily tag sale...certainly the last of the season!

Also from 9-1, the Salvation Army will be on site to accept donations of household goods in good condition, as well as clothing, shoes, accessories & textiles. Acceptable textiles can be worn, torn, stained or missing buttons- but they must be clean & dry.

Concurrently, a free regional shredding event for confidential papers will be offered to residents & small businesses. ProShred’s mobile shredding unit will provide confidential destruction of documents on site.  Participants can deliver up to two recycling bins to be safely recycled.

Voluntary donations for the Hampshire County Interfaith Emergency Shelter will be gratefully accepted in exchange for shredding services, including travel-sized shampoos, soaps, toothpastes, deodorants, shaving cream & women’s hygiene products; toothbrushes, razors, combs & brushes; socks, underwear, gloves & mittens, etc.
