It has been a week of tying up loose ends and interviewing candidates for new positions.  We are hiring new teachers for next year and I have been very pleased with the quality of the candidates and their experience level.  I asked our principals to try to hire early in the summer to attract the best candidates and it is clearly working.

Today, we began interviewing candidates for the Director of Innovative Instruction and Technology.  We will continue on July 11th and then begin our first round of interviews for the Director of Special Education on July 12th.

Our next community forum for discussion of the Late Start proposal for the High School will take place on Tuesday, July 10 from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in the Community Room at JFK.  All families impacted by a potential change in our school start times are encouraged to attend.

Also on July 10, the subcommittee for the Superintendent Evaluation process will meet.  I will present my self-assessment portfolio and we will discuss the survey process for SC, ALT, and the NPS faculty.

I wish everyone a safe and healthy 4th of July holiday.

Sincerely,

Brian L. Salzer, Ed.S.
Superintendent
